The recorded story

Case 03

Interactive science exhibits and child-friendly experience areas created for repeatable public science learning.

The Xiamen reference focuses on children’s zones inside a public science-learning setting. Its recorded scope connects exhibition design, interactive exhibits, manufacturing and installation around a simple question: how can science become approachable through action?

The case is organised as a journey from interpretation to repeatable public use. Ideas need to read clearly at a child’s scale, interactive behaviour needs to be understandable without lengthy instruction, and the built result needs to support many visitors over time.

The project connects exhibition design, interactive exhibits, manufacturing and installation around a clear public-learning experience.

01

Case chapter

Science made approachable for children

The reference records interactive science exhibits and child-friendly experience areas for repeatable public learning. The design task is not to simplify curiosity, but to give children a clear way to enter a scientific question through action.

The first interaction should make the question feel reachable.

02

Case chapter

Translate ideas into actions

Interactive exhibits turn interpretation into something visitors can test, compare or repeat. Prompts, feedback and physical scale work together so that the experience can communicate through use as well as text.

Design for different rhythms

Children may arrive alone, with family members or as part of a group. A public zone must support quick discovery and longer engagement without creating a single compulsory path.

Case chapter

Resolve the physical system

The recorded scope connects exhibit design with manufacturing. Materials, mechanisms, access and maintenance need to preserve the learning intention while preparing the work for repeated use.

Complete the journey on site

Installation links each exhibit to the surrounding space, services and visitor flow, turning separate systems into one coherent visit.
